 It can be already seen from Punta Arenas. Once the Strait of Magellan is crossed by ferry, within approximately 2 hours and a half, the legendary Island of Tierra del Fuego Island can be seen, which in turn, welcomes the quite city of Puerto Porvenir.
Reaching the island is a fascinating spectacle. Panoramic views of Punta Arenas and the surrounding hills, as well as the curious presence of the toninas (Chilean dolphins) usually swimming and jumping around the ship, are the visit’s prelude. Once there, lunch will be served at noon to continue, during the whole afternoon, with a visit to the Province Museum, which exhibits the attractions of Tierra del Fuego and its inhabitants: the native Onas, and the pioneers of this land, the Croatians and Chiloé people
Then, the visit will come to an end with an amazing tour to Inútil Bay (Useless Bay).
Return to Punta Arenas will be by a regular flight that lasts approximately 20 minutes
